Here Again

By: Elevation Worship

Verse 1

Can't go back, to the beginning

Can't control, what tomorrow will bring

But I know, here in the middle

Is the place, where you promise to be

Life doesn't give us redos- we can't just go back and relive moments. We also can't control what life throws at us. The enemy loves to attack us when we are in the middle of our battles. During the battles we face, we know who God is and know He is faithful, yet we still doubt that He will keep His promise ( hand is raised!)

A perfect example of this is a story in the book of Exodus. When Moses led God's people out of Egypt, they knew God was faithful, but they still doubted Him during the hard times. In Exodus 17, the people complained about not having water- they started to doubt why God brought them in the wilderness to begin with (Exodus 17:7 "....Is the Lord here with us or not?") But then, God told Moses to strike the rocks with his staff and water would come gushing out for people to drink. ***Go read Exodus 17 & 18 it is UNREAL***

Like the people of Egypt, we sometimes doubt that He is in the middle of our circumstance but we have to remember that He is always with us (Joshua 1:9)

Chorus

I'm not enough, unless you come

Will you meet me here again

Cause all I want, is all you are

Will you meet me here again

Did you realize that there is a question in this chorus?

Lord, will You meet me in this battle again?

An important part of this question is the word again. He has met you before so why would He forsake you now? He wouldn't.

A lot of times when we are in the middle of a battle, we forget that we can ask God to meet us in the valley- we either assume He will not come or that we don't need to ask when God is actually waiting and saying "What can I do for you?" (Joshua 15:13-19

As a Christian we should have the longing to be like Him and all He is. Our deepest desire of a Christian heart should be to resemble Him.  1 John 3:2

Verse 2

As I walk, now through the valley

Let your love, rise above every fear

Like the sun, shaping the shadow

In my weakness, your glory appears

The valley is when Jesus feels a million miles away, and we feel like we're going backwards. So this verse is ultimately asking God to be there during the hard times. When fear is overtaking us, God can come and replace it with love. When you find yourself walking through the valley, just remember Psalms 23:4- "For You are with me."

**side note!! Fear really means False Expectations Appearing True. Fear comes from the devil NOT from God.  Just think on that for a minute.

Now, imagine looking at your shadow on a sunny day. The shadow represents all of our weakness- its dark and inaccurate. Definitely not a true depiction of who we are. But the sun is still there. It is still bright and it still shines. That represents God's glory. Through our weakness, He is still there. At our weakest point, God is the most personal.

Bridge

Not for a minute, was I forsaken

The Lord is in this place

The Lord is in this place

Come Holy Spirit, dry bones awaken

The Lord is in this place

The Lord is in this place

This. Should. Be. Our. Anthem. When. We. Worship.

Deuteronomy 31:6- "For it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."

Ezekiel 37- The Valley of Dry Bones

The Lord led Ezekiel to a valley filled with dry bones. He asked him if the bones could ever live again. Ezekiel replied with "Lord only You know." Then, the Lord told him to prophesy over the dry bones and THEY. ACTUALLY. GOT. UP. AND. BREATHED.

Here's the cool thing- the bones represented the broken nation of Israel. The hopelessness. The heartbreak. But the Lord allowed them to rise again as a great army

"So I spoke the message as He commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet-a great      army."Ezekiel 37:10

He can do that in your circumstance too, bring it to life. You may feel hopelessness right now, but just know that He is in your circumstance. He is here and always has been.
